We are so lucky to have so many of you wanting to adopt a dog from us, that we find ourselves with many many more adopters than we have dogs. As a result, Legacy Boxer Rescue will not be accepting any more applications at this time. If you have already submitted an application, it will be processed! Processing times are much longer than usual so please be patient. Watch your email for communications or questions about your application. As we close out 2020 and move on into the future, Legacy Boxer Rescue needs to make some changes. We are looking at ways to reorganize our organization to make it even better than it has been. While we reorganize we will not be taking in new boxers. Once we have restructured we will be at the ready to help more dogs and meet more volunteers and adopters. The Grey Muzzle Organization announced the recipients of its annual grants, and the lucky dogs at Legacy Boxer Rescue are among the winners. Legacy Boxer Rescue is one of 64 animal welfare groups chosen from 288 applicants to receive a grant to help local senior dogs. The winning groups received more than $510,000 in grants to help save or improve the lives of at-risk old dogs in their communities. "LBR is committed to caring for senior dogs who late in life find themselves in need of a new home and family" said Sharon Sleighter of Legacy Boxer Rescue. "The generous grant from Grey Muzzle Organization will allow us to support and expand our Legacy Silver and Legacy Keepers programs to help senior dogs like 14-year-old Aggi prepare for their forever homes." Over the past 12 years, the national nonprofit Grey Muzzle Organization has provided almost $2.5 million in grants to support its vision of a world where no old dog dies alone and afraid. "Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are delighted to help deserving organizations like Legacy Boxer Rescue make a difference in the lives of dogs and people in their communities" Grey Muzzle''s Executive Director Lisa Lunghofer said.
